Power, Performance and Style the Aston Martin DB7 GTA

Aston Martins renaissance began in the 1990's with the introduction of the DB7 in 1994. Then owned by Ford, the opportunity arose to take advantage of a proposal by Tom Walkinsaw (of TWR racing fame) to make use of the Bloxham factory after TWR had finished building the Jaguar XJ220. Tom Walkinsaw took the existing Jaguar XK8 undercarriage as the basis for further development and worked together with Ian Callum to design the beautifully proportioned body. Laying the design language for all succeeding Aston Martin models to the present day. Interestingly when David Brown, Astons former owner, was shown the DB7 prototype he happily agreed to the idea of continuing the DB series designation.

While the original DB7 was produced with a supercharged straight six engine developing 355bhp, the DB7 achieved supercar status with the introduction of the DB7 Vantage in 1999 using the Cosworth developed and built V12.. The V12 being Astons first; a departure from the straight sixes and V8's of the past. This almighty engine developed 420bhp and was a contemporary of the V12 powered Ferrari 550.

During the 9 year production run over 7000 DB7's were produced; a figure surpassing the combined sales of all previous Aston Martins since the company's foundation in 1913. The final run of DB7 Vantage was the limited edition GT/GTA series of which our DB7 is one; made in the final year of production in 2003.

We are naturally proud of all our British built classics. However, the Aston Martin DB7 GTA stands tallest. Painted Rolls Royce Peacock Blue and specified with Parchment leather and Pacific Blue trim with Black Oak wood finishings. It is a magnificent example of the genre.

Words cannot describe the visual impact and presence of the DB7 GTA so we will let the photographs do the talking.
