Ginetta. A Great British marque producing road and race cars since 1958 and currently enjoying a revival under the stewardship of Lawrence Tomlinson. The Ginetta G40R is the road version of the Ginetta G40 race car first introduced in 2010. We'll take RWD with limited slip diff.; race engineered suspension and brakes; Team Dynamics alloys now shod with 215/40x17 Avon ZZR road legal track tyres. Uncompromising, loud, raw and exciting.
The new for 2014 G40 Club edition offers stunning performance from a 1.8 litre DOHC 16 valve engine in a lightweight chassis and body to ensure excellent power to weight. FIA approved T45 integrated safety cell with on board fire extinguisher, 45 litre fuel cell, racing bucket seats and 5 point harness provide safety. Q/R Ginetta steering wheel and push button start complete the spec. Race bred for road and track.
Our white Ginetta G40 Club was collected from the Ginetta factory in April 2014 and successfully competed in the inaugural Ginetta GRDC championship racing at Snetterton, Rockingham, Donington and Silverstone. In 2015 racing continued in the GT5 GRDC+ subclass championship including rounds at Brands Hatch GP and the mighty Spa Francorchamps circuit and subsequently and finally the Ginetta G40 Cup Championship (its very own Ginetta race series). The car was effectively retired from racing at the end of the 2018 season and is now a dedicated track day "toy". The car is prepared and maintained by Matt Blyth Motorsport.
If your ambition is to drive a GT Formula race car the Ginetta G40 Club is the car to fulfill your dream!
Trackday Use: The Ginetta is available for hire at "selected" trackdays at Thruxton, Castle Combe, Abingdon, Silverstone and Brands Hatch - go to trackdays.co.uk and let us know what's of interest. The car is trailered to the circuit by Icon Classic Car and where available a pit garage is reserved. The trackday hire charge comprises five 20 minute track sessions (the equivalent of approx. 60 laps depending on the circuit - similar to an F1 race!). The trackday hire charge also includes trackday insurance and fuel. Note that the hirer is directly responsible for the cost of the track day - payable to the track day organiser. For the Ginetta an insurance and security deposit of £2500 is required cancelled on safe return of the vehicle. Customers must comply with circuit regulations including red and black flag warnings (which can result in disqualification from further participation in the track day). In such cases hire charges are non refundable. Crash helmets must be provided by customers and worn. It is also advisable to wear suitably narrow shoes. Note: the Ginetta is a tight fit and would not be suitable for those over 5ft 11in (1.80m) and 15 stone.
